Osprey Valley Open announces 2025 Sponsor’s Exemptions
Jared du Toit, Thomas Giroux, Piercen Hunt and Johnny Travale add depth to list of talented Canadians competing at TPC Toronto next week
Caledon, ON – TPC Toronto at Osprey Valley is proud to announce four standout Canadian golfers as Sponsor’s Exemptions into the 2025 Osprey Valley Open, an official PGA TOUR Americas event taking place July 28 – August 3 on the Heathlands course.
Jared du Toit (Kimberley, BC), Thomas Giroux (Georgetown, ON), Piercen Hunt (Calgary, AB), and Johnny Travale (Hamilton, ON) will join a field of the world’s top up-and-coming players as they compete in the season-long race for the Fortinet Cup aim to take the next steps on the path toward the PGA TOUR.
These four players have each distinguished themselves through outstanding amateur and professional careers:
· Jared du Toit rose to national prominence with a top-10 finish as an amateur at the 2016 RBC Canadian Open. A member of Team Canada and a former Arizona State University standout, du Toit has since competed on PGA TOUR Americas, the Korn Ferry Tour and the Asian Tour since 2017.
· Thomas Giroux enjoyed a successful collegiate career at Oakland University, where he earned Horizon League Player of the Year honours. Giroux earned conditional PGA Tour Americas status at Q-School earlier this year.
· Piercen Hunt, a Calgary native and former University of Illinois star, is a past winner of the Wisconsin State Amateur and a current member of Team Canada.
· Johnny Travale, originally from Hamilton, ON, made headlines during his time at the University of Central Florida, where he set multiple program records and earned All-Conference honours. Travale finished a career-best T4 at the 2023 Manitoba Open.
